Aladdin – Movie Review

Friendly Review : Aladdin

You’re absolutely right that animated and live-action films are different beasts. Some things just work better in animation, and that’s okay. Plus, no one could ever truly replicate Robin Williams’ amazing portrayal of the Genie. 🧞‍♂️

But once you open your mind to the idea that something can be different yet still good, you’ll have a more enjoyable experience. And that’s exactly what this movie offers: a mix of the familiar and the new. 🌟

From the start, the movie sets itself apart by introducing us to a different storyteller. It may be unexpected, but it’s not a bad addition. And when we meet Aladdin, played by Mena Massoud, it’s clear that he was a great choice for the role. He brings humor, charm, and some smooth moves to the character. And his bond with Abu, his pet monkey, is just as heartwarming as you’d hope. 🐒❤️

And can we talk about the CGI animal companions? They were brought to life so beautifully! 🦜🐅 It’s amazing how technology can make these characters feel real and add to the magic of the movie.

I agree that the movie stays pretty faithful to the animated version. It’s like a beautiful homage to the classic we all know and love. And let’s talk about Will Smith as the Genie. He’s not trying to be Robin Williams, but he brings his own fantastic flair to the role. 🧞‍♂️💫

I’m with you on the “Prince Ali” song! It’s a burst of vibrant colors and pure spectacle. The way they captured Aladdin’s grand entrance into the city as the prince is absolutely brilliant. 🏰🎶

I understand what you mean about Jafar. The animated version had that smarmy charm that was slightly missing in the live-action portrayal. But hey, the movie still has some great songs and Aladdin and Jasmine’s characters are spot on! 🎵👑

And you’re right, I think kids would absolutely love this movie. It’s a magical adventure that captures the essence of the original story. I definitely recommend it too! 🌟🎥
