Rating: 1.5
In Operation Raavan, we meet Anand Sriram (played by Rakshit Atluri), a rookie journalist entering a TV news channel amidst internal turmoil. It’s hinted early on that Sriram holds a more intricate past than he lets on. Despite revealing his history, the impact of his true identity on the storyline remains ambiguous. A later action scene with a mysterious antagonist seems contrived solely for a dramatic moment.
Operation Raavan initially promised a gripping mystery about unmasking a psychopathic killer. However, the film struggles to maintain focus on this core premise while incorporating other mainstream elements. Consequently, the movie starring Rakshit Atluri fails to build momentum as intended.
Directed by Venkata Satya, Operation Raavan falls short in delivering a compelling murder mystery or delving into criminal psychology. While starting with a gruesome murder, the film’s prolonged focus on the media and police spheres lacks depth in execution. Despite a brief intense interaction between a journalist and a senior police officer, the potential clashes between these systems are left unexplored. The narrative’s pacing suffers as it sidelines the mysterious antagonist, leading to a disjointed and ultimately unengaging viewing experience.
